Special invitation to all breast cancer bloggers. This month the Being Cancer Book Club is reading “The Adventures of Cancer Bitch” by S. L. Wisenberg, “witty and relentless, surprising and honest. Wisenberg has walked through the Valley of Cancer and she is willing to tell all; this is a cornucopia of breast cancer information as well as a very smart, funny read from an excellent writer."—Audrey Niffenegger, author, The Time Traveler’s Wife.
Book discussions are in Mondays’ posts. Take care, Dennis

Great Blog! I added you to my blogroll. Also... Open invitation to you and your readers to participate in the Being Cancer Book Club. This month we are discussing “The Last Lecture” by Randy Pausch. “...the lecture he gave ... was about the importance of overcoming obstacles, of enabling the dreams of others, of seizing every moment (because “time is all you have…and you may find one day that you have less than you think”). It was a summation of everything Randy had come to believe. It was about living.”
Monday is Book Club day; Tuesday Guest Blog and Friday Cancer News Roundup.
Also check out Cancer Blog Links containing over 225 blog links and Cancer Resources with 230 referenced sites, both divided into disease categories.
Please accept this invitation to join our growing cancer blogging community at www.beingcancer.net
Take care, Dennis

By now you should be done. Way to Go! I too am looking forward to great weather, although we have yet to see very much of it. Have a great time at the Relay for Life, I have been a part of many of them. It is a humbling experience. Be sure to come back to gobeyondtreatment too!

I love your spirit! Three weeks of surviving along with a great attitude and some determination turns into to months and years of life. Keep stopping in and tell my uncle that I said hi!

Heather,
I too am surviving breast cancer. I had my diagnosis on Jan 30th and my mastectomy on Feb. 11th. Today I am going for my 5th chemo treatment. It has been a rough 4 1/2 months but I am doing well. I've had a few complications along the way but am staying strong and have a great prognosis for recovery. I am grateful today that the day is supposed to get in the 70's. I can't wait to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful weather. I am looking forward to participating in the relay for life an a few weeks. But mostly just being done with the chemo soon. After today only 1 more to go. WHOO HOO

Heather,

Your Uncle Pete, one of my neighbors, told me about your inspiring story. I'm a double-mastectomy breast-cancer survivor, too--though not, like you, with a decade of health behind me. I've been a survivor for three weeks. But hey: survival's unequivocal.

Today I am particularly grateful that frozen pot stickers taste okay with mango salsa.

Hi, I just came across your blog Heather and I too admire what you are doing. As a breast cancer advocate and survivor, I believe very much in the sisterhood of experience and in the words of Albert Schweitzer "whoever among us has learned through personal experience what pain and anxiety really are must help to ensure that those out there who are in … need obtain the same help that once came to (her)"
